A candidate who has passed the two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University
Education Board in Karnataka or any other examination considered equivalent to that shall be eligible for
admission to these programmes. Generally, a candidate to opt for a subject should have studied that subject at
the qualifying examination. Additional Conditions of Eligibility required for specific subjects are as follows:
a) Candidates to opt for Physics should have studied Mathematics in addition to Physics at the qualifying examination.
b) Candidates to opt for Biochemistry should have studied that subject or Chemistry at the qualifying examination.
c) Candidates to opt for Statistics should have studied that subject or Mathematics at the qualifying examination.
d) Candidates to opt for Biotechnology, Microbiology or Zoology should have studied that subject or Biology at the qualifying examination.
A candidate who has completed the Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka, or two years of Job Oriented Courses provided by any State Government Board of Vocational Education, or any other examination considered equal thereto.
A candidate who has completed the Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or JODC / Three years Diploma in Engineering of Government of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission.
1 . B.Sc. Degree of Bangalore University or any other University equivalent
thereto with any Life Science subject securing 50% marks in aggregate of all optional subjects.
2 . Students who have passed B.Sc. Biotechnology / Microbiology (integrated) securing 50% marks in the
aggregate.
3 . Students who have passed B.Sc. Honours in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology
or Biology with 50% marks in aggregate of all the optionals.
4 . The following Graduates are also eligible (in absence of 1, 2 and 3 above) with
50% marks in aggregate:
a) Bachelor in Agricultural Science
b) Bachelor in Daily Sciences
c) Bachelor in Horticulture
d) Bachelor in Forestry
e) Bachelor in Fisheries
f) Bachelor in Pharmacy
g) Bachelor in Engineering (Biotechnology)
h) Bachelor in Medicine / Dentistry
i) Bachelor in Agricultural Engineering
B.Sc. Degree with 40% marks in aggregate and studied Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry as one of the cognate subjects securing 50% marks at B.Sc. level and studied Biology at PUC or 10+2 level.
B.Sc. Degree with 50% marks in aggregate of all the optional subjects with any three of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Botany, Applied Botany, Zoology, Applied Zoology, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Applied Genetics and Sericulture.
B.Sc. Degree with 50% marks, provided he/she has studied Physics and Mathematics as any of three cognate subjects and has scored at least 50% aggregate marks in the optional subjects.
B.Sc. Degree with 40% marks in the aggregate and studied Chemistry (cognate subject) securing 50% marks in this subject at the B.Sc. level and studied Mathematics at 10+2 level or Pre-University level.
B.Sc. Degree with 40% marks in the aggregate of all the optional subjects and 50% of marks in Mathematics (cognate subject) at the B.Sc level.
B.Sc. Degree with 40% marks in aggregate with Statistics and Mathematics as optional subjects, securing a minimum of 50% in the Statistics. Further, a candidate who has passed B.Sc. degree with Statistics as major/main subject and Mathematics as minor subject and a minimum of 50% marks in Statistics and 40% in aggregate are also eligible.
B.Sc Degree in Computer Science or B.C.A. with Mathematics as one of the subject and atleast 50% marks aggregate marks of all optional subjects. (OR) B.Sc. (PCM with PG Diploma or Certificate in Computer Science of duration one year).
B.Sc Degree with 50% marks in aggregate in the following combination of optional subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Electronics / Physics, Mathematics, Instrumentation / Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics.
Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 50% of marks with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science /
Computer Programming / Computer Applications / Business Mathematics / Business Statistics as one of the Optionals or Electives at Degree level.
Provided further that in respect of a candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified in the First
Proviso in the Pre-University course with 50% of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission.
NOTE: ADMISSION FOR MCA COURSE THROUGH LATERAL ENTRY IS AS PER PGCET REGULATIONS (2 Years / 4 Semesters).
Bachelor’s Degree with 40% in the aggregate of all the subjects and 50% marks in the cognate subject in the qualifying University examinations are eligible to apply.Candidates with BA / BSc / BCom are eligible to apply provided they have scored 55% marks in the languages concerned in the Degree Course.
NOTE : THE BACHELOR’S / MASTER’S DEGREE SHOULD BE FROM RECOGNISED UNIVERSITY
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate of all the years (45% marks in case of Karnataka SC / ST / Cat – I candidates) including languages and secured a rank in the entrance test
B.Com / BBA Degree with 50% marks in aggregate in Commerce subjects. (45% Marks in case of Karnataka SC/ST/Cat-I candidate).
Pass in PUC/10+2 or equivalent examination (All Streams).
Pass in PUC/10+2 or equivalent examination (All Streams).
Bachelor’s / Master Degree with 40% marks in aggregate are eligible for admission. Preference will be given to candidates sponsored by a business or industrial concern.

Bachelor's Degree in Arts (BA) or Bachelor Degree in Social Work (BSW) of a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
Journalism Graduates: Bachelor’s Degree with 50% of marks in Journalism (Optional Subjects) at the degree.
Non-Journalism Graduates: Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks in aggregate of all the optional subjects at the degree.
Pass in PUC / 10+2 or equivalent examination ( All Streams).
NOTE : THE BACHELOR’S / MASTER’S DEGREE SHOULD BE FROM RECOGNISED UNIVERSITY
Pass in PUC / 10+2 or equivalent exam with 45% Marks, 40% for Karnataka SC/ST and 42% for Karnataka OBC.
Pass in any degree with 45% Marks, 40% for SC/ST Karnataka and 42% for Karnataka OBC
